Given that spring is typically a time when many folks go for a weekend trip, it seems like a great time to start exploring the best outfit ideas for those days in the spring when you're traveling out of town.

Having a dress that you can rely on is one of the more essential style tips we can recommend when traveling. A versatile and airy dress can be the foundation of many outfits while also letting you stay cool as the weather warms throughout the day. 

When you’re abroad, it’s arguably best to have a few on hand, depending on how long you’ll be gone. Even better, we’d also recommend making sure you have a few different lengths of dresses, though a mid-length dress can go a long way with most other outfit ideas. 

A Versatile Sweater

Spring is one of the changeable seasons, so you might find yourself getting weather that shifts from warm to cold, dry to wet, and calm to windy, all in the same day! As a result, it’s almost always a good idea to have a sweater on hand to keep yourself ready for those shifts in temperature. 

A loose-fitting, casual sweater is the way to go for us. You’ll be able to add it seamlessly to most spring outfits and won’t have to worry about it fitting over clothing to look right. Cardigans are great alternatives as well as they’re equally adaptable. 

Swimsuit

Now, you’ll want an all-day swimsuit for your travels, depending on where you're going. Having a dependable, comfortable, easy-going swimsuit is vital for warmer weather adventures where you’ll be by the pool or hitting the beach. 

Making sure you have something easy to wear is crucial. You’ll want to layer outfits over it to reduce time getting ready while also allowing you to take advantage of those glorious moments of spontaneity that only a holiday adventure can provide!

Shorts & Sandals

When you’re looking for the ultimate traveling outfit, sometimes it’s best to stick with a classic. After all, there’s a reason why some combos are timeless in the first place. 

No travel wardrobe is complete without a pair of shorts and matching sandals. If you want to stay comfortable and lightweight, there’s no better pair of items for the task. 

Again, the emphasis here is comfort; your shorts should have a little stretch in them while being made of something soft enough to keep you chafing-free when exploring your new surroundings. Similarly, finding a pair of sandals that can fit can be a personal experience until you find “the ones.”
